What we collect
Without an account: nothing; your chart lives in your browser's local storage and never reaches our servers. With an account: your email address, a display name, and the charts you save (event names, table layouts, guest names and groupings, collaborator emails you add). While co-editing, cursor positions and display names are shared live with the other people in that event.
Where it lives (processors)
Mabel runs on three providers: Vercel serves the website, Convex stores application data (accounts and charts), and Stripe processes payments as merchant of record; card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. On our marketing pages (this page, the terms, and the home page), Google Tag Manager collects usage analytics, but only sets cookies if you accept them (see Cookies below). The seating chart editor itself carries no analytics.
Cookies
The app itself uses one essential cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. Our marketing pages also use Google Tag Manager, which starts with all consent denied and only sets analytics and advertising cookies if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookies link in the footer of the home page.
Emails
We don't send any. Adding a collaborator doesn't email them; the event simply appears when they sign in. Purchase receipts come from Stripe.
Deletion
Deleting an event removes its tables, guests, and collaborator grants. To delete your entire account and everything in it, email [email protected] and we'll confirm within a few days. Stripe retains payment records as required for financial compliance.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new date.
